This page is a guide for health information for the families of Center Point-Urbana School District.
It contains several sites with health forms and/or information they you may need.
We have many students in our school with food allergies. Fifteen million Americans have food allergies, including approximately 6 million children. Food allergies can be potentially fatal and there is no cure. The only way to avoid a reaction is to avoid the offending food.
We know that many parents like to celebrate birthdays and other occasions with special treats. We encourage you to celebrate with non-food items such as stickers, pencils, erasers, or other trinkets other than food. If food is sent to share with other students, it should be pre-packaged and have an ingredient label on.
As an added precaution, remind your child not to share food with anyone else unless the teacher gives permission to do so.
By now, you should have received communication from your child’s teacher if there is a student with a food allergy. Please work hard at making treats safe for everyone in the class and not letting any child feel left out because they are “different”.
Thanks for your cooperation on this very important health matter.
Please feel free to call any of the health offices with health concerns of your student. You may also fax any medical releases or forms to school nurse at each respective building. Fax numbers are listed on the bottom of the webpage.
School nurses in every community are important contributors to a child's overall well-being and educational success.
Every child deserves a school nurse.
