The third graders have started off the year with Human Body Science Unit. In this unit they learn about the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, and tendons. There is a variety of fun activities they have done the past weeks with this unit. One of the favorites is working with the Owl Pellets to find bones and identify them and place them on our work paper. The other activity they enjoyed doing was to make leg and arm models with dowels, paperclips and rubber bands. Our models really worked. They learned which items represented the muscles, ligaments and bones. They also taped their fingers and thumbs so they couldn’t use them and tried to do a list of tasks. The album show the fun they have had exploring the science unit in 3K.
